A network of out-of-court dispute resolution schemes in the European Economic Area (EU Member States + Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway), the aim of which is to assist consumers in cross-border disputes with financial institutions (banks, insurance companies, investment companies etc.). Established by the European Commission in 2001.
